makes 2 cups
2 cups canned chickpeas, drained, liquid reserved
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
4 garlic cloves, minced (I like lots of garlic, so I usually use 5 or 6!)
1/3 cup tahini (sesame paste)
6 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
2 Tbsp water or liquid from the chickpeas
8 dashes Tabasco sauce
Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed. Taste for seasoning and served chilled or at room temperature.
ps. I'm sure a blender would do the trick if you do not have a food processor.
Enjoy! OH! and if you want to make your own pita chips, just brush olive oil onto pitas, cut into wedges, sprinkle with cayenne pepper and back on a baking sheet at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, or so.

You crack me up. Good luck with the move, when will that happen? I hope your dad is alright.
Okay, so this has nothing to do with your post.
I just noticed you have Damion Rice's, Delicate, on your playlist. Very cool! I love that song!
I have wanted to make hummus from scratch! I will try this! Thanks!!!
Those show names from Adam made me laugh.
Good luck on giving up sweets (is your family ok? Your dad?) My sister gave up sweets for a long time and figured out ways to make her body not crave sugar -- if I get any helpful tips from her, I'll let you know if you want....
So you're going to Kansas City huh? In Jan.? That will be nice to be by family and familiarity again.
I want to try your cupcakes!
Do you like how I'm just commenting up a storm in separate groups for all your posts? I guess I hadn't checked your blog in a week or so! ... Love it :)
